Century Aluminum, Union Negotiation at Hawesville Plant

Century Aluminum Co. (CENX.O) management and the union of the United Steelworkers of America have been having talks over a new labor contract that will cover the benefit of about 500 hourly workers at the Hawesville aluminum smelter. The company’s aluminum smelter at Hawesville has a capacity of about 244,000 tonnes per year.

Hawesville plant manager Matt Powell is quoted saying:

“We continue to work towards an agreement that serves the best interests of all of our constituents.”
